HOTEL PACAI OPENING IN MAY
A new Baltic beauty

Berlin, April 10, 2018 - Come May 2018, the quaint and cobbled streets of Old Town Vilnius will welcome a new design knockout in the form of Hotel Pacai. Set squarely in the center of Europe’s largest baroque Old Town, Hotel Pacai is poised to elevate Lithuania’s capital city with a culturally-rooted stay reflecting the virtues of this singular destination: historic, charming, and vibrant in spirit. Regarded as the most magnificent mansion of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania in the 17th century, today’s incarnation will offer 104 spacious guest rooms, four conference spaces, a lounge bar, a bistro and fine dining restaurant headed by Claus Meyer, of Noma fame.

Occupying the Palace of Pacai, a former private mansion where some of the most influential Lithuanian families used to reside, Hotel Pacai arises as a sophisticated urban retreat. Blending authentic 17th century baroque grandeur with contemporary design, the treasured building was once owned by national legend and the cultural ambassadorof Lithuania, Kazimieras Mykolas Pacas (1624-1682). Consisting of four interconnected historical buildings which form an inner courtyard, the structure was converted by Lithuanian architect Saulius Mikštas who preserved historical details like original frescoes and statues from the 16thcentury and brought in sleek modernity in the form of ample marble and a fresh color story.

As the passion project of a team of local architects and designers, Hotel Pacai showcases deep ties to this fascinating destination. Here, on the main artery of the medieval Old Town, the striking classicist facade will house 104 individually design guestrooms, the 38-seat casual bistro and 43-seat ‘new Baltic’ restaurant by Claus Meyer that will be destination in its own right, a full spa, a gym, and four state-of-the-art conference facilities. The center courtyard will showcase a series of artistic events, solidifying this new cultural beacon of the Baltic.
